How to Enjoy the Last Weekend of Spring Break at Home

(James Franco voice) SPRANNNG BREAK.
It’s that time of year again. We have come to the final weekend of spring break. Some of you are at home visiting loved ones, on the beach partying it up, or if you’re like me you’re…at home binging on Netflix in your deserted dorms or apartment complex.

But hey, it doesn't have to be all that bad ‘Runners. I present to you:

THINGS YOU CAN OCCUPY YOUR TIME WITH THIS WEEKEND:

-You can go eat some CRAWFISH. That glorious season is here as well. Restaurants are starting to get their shipments in of live crawfish (opposed to the frozen stuff they sell the rest of the year), so I would definitely get in on that before it’s too late.

-GO OUTSIDE! After waking from my rainy days hibernation yesterday, I realized-hey… it’s beautiful outside! Good thing we still have this last weekend to enjoy before going back to school on Monday. Go to the park,  hit the trails, or maybe go to The Block and enjoy some food and the nice weather  ~at the same damn time~.

-Read a book before it hits the big screen! You too, can be one of those I read the book before I saw the movie people. Fifty Shades is already out in theaters, so you may want not want to read that one when you could just see Jamie Dornan play the mysterious Christian Grey whenever you please. Luckily, there are TONS of books being adapted into films that will be out in the upcoming months. Here’s a link for a few of them from Buzzfeed

-The market downtown! Last weekend I visited the south town area to find that there was a great market there that occurs every Saturday. It would be a great way to kill an afternoon, see some local vendors, and you can even bring your pet along with you. While you’re down there you are sure to find other things going on like festivals, etc. Always something!

-And then of course you could always…dun dun dun… catch up on your schoolwork. Although this might sound horribly dull, it will feel great when everyone gets back from their vacations feeling tired and worn out- and there you will be- shining bright like a diamond. Muahaha. Yes.

So there you have it, just a few ideas to get you going. And just think, with all the money you’re saving from staying home, you can plan a killer summer vacation, or treat yourself to something nice in the future. Stay Golden, Roadrunners.

I’m going to get back to my drug of choice, Californication (Also a great way to kill a weekend, if all else fails).
