Disney Goes Live

Growing up, Disney has always been an essential part of many kids' lives. I can admit that I have never grown out of the Disney phase, and honestly, I don't think I ever will. I mean I still have plenty of my Disney VHS's in a shelf in my room back home.

The key to Disney's success was the fact that he brought so many stories to life with his never ending creativity and only immersed the company with other individuals with that nature. Walt Disney brought that creative spirit to every thing he did, from creating an enthusiastic mouse called Mickey to creating the first full length animation movie that was Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs. The main idea was bringing fantasy to life.

Now after many years of bringing many movies to life, the Disney company has taken a more literal sense of the phrase. In 2010, Disney released Alice in Wonderland, directed by Tim Burton, and the movie has grossed over $330,000,000 since then. With Alice's wild success, Disney has gone on to make other live action films like Maleficent, which starred Angelina Jolie, and most recently the enchanted live action remake of Cinderella which I actually saw the day it came out. How lovely of a movie it was. "Have courage and be kind" has become my motto since then. Anyways back on topic, Disney had tremendous success with these three that they have slated many more movies for the future.

What are these movies, you ask? Well, recently Disney has released the trailer for the upcoming movie The Jungle Book, which you can watch at the top of this blog. The trailer shows the amazing CGI of a beautiful dark forest which seems far different from the animation movie. Along with the forest we also see some familiar characters like Mowgli, obviously, and Baloo. The movie is set to be released on April 15, 2016.

Other live movies coming out are Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson, perfect pick by the way, Alice Through the Looking Glass, Pete's Dragon, Mulan, Tink, & Dumbo. There are plenty more as well, but that was just a taste at the magic Disney has in store for us. Trust me, Disney has many movies to release throughout the years, and I hope these live action movies can keep up the magical momentum that has been established with the past movies.

  1. Looking forward to Beauty and the Beast and Alice Through the Looking Glass. Disney should consider giving Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Treasure Planet the live remake treatment.
