Transition to Fall With These Recent Releases

Artists are releasing music as fast as they can, especially through YouTube. The videos, even if they're just audio clips, get fans ready for upcoming albums or introduce YouTubers to new names.

Some of the bigger names have been releasing bits of their upcoming albums. Selena Gomez just recently released the second single, Same Old Love, off her upcoming album, Revival. The photo for the video contrasts with the simplicity of her album's cover. Yet, the style of the photo focuses on the music being a mixture of soul and pop with a hint of a 40s vibe.

Lana Del Rey also just released her single, Music To Watch Boys To. True to her style, the song continues with Lana displaying the vocal talent that brought her to the front of the music scene. The cover art for the single is reminiscent of summer time in the 80s. But then again when has Lana not taken inspiration from prior time periods?

Then P!nk released the audio video for her song, Today's the Day. The single is to be the theme song for the 13th season of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. This song is full of positivity as P!nk bursts through the lyrics with her powerful voice.

For those more into the alternative aspect of music, don't fret. Silversun Pickups released the audio video for their song, Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance). In technicality the video shows the band doing what any band does best. In black and white the video brings a hidden depth into the song.

Then, up and coming band, CHVRCHES released the third single, Clearest Blue from their upcoming album Every Open Eye. So far they have been able to keep my attention on them. Mostly because it has become harder to define an band and artist because they take influences from different music genres. I enjoy the uniqueness that comes from meshing contrary genres to create something magnificent.

It looks like artists are trying to keep it simple or abstract when releasing their music. Maybe it will become a trend in the music industry. But it'll be hard to tell. For now, what are some artists or bands you are looking forward to releasing new music? Let us know in the comments.
