Our 4 Favorite SS16 Collections From Worldwide Fashion Weeks

New York, London, Milan & Paris.
Our favorite collections of every fashion show from around the world for Spring and Summer of 2016.

Time for real talk!
Runways, after parties, interviews and street style madness convey what a Fashion Week is. We can assure you it is quite a chore to follow and review every single show that happens during this time, so we took on the task to summarize all 4 major fashion weeks and came up with our favorite Spring & Summer 2016 collections showcased on the runways from around the world. Hope you enjoy.

✿ New York - LIBERTINE

Although Johnson Hartig had to scramble along his team for 48 hours to successfully pull off this season's offering after having UPS lose boxes in transit to New York containing dozens of key garments for the collection, Libertine's season offering ended up being remarkably unique and showed one more time the firm's characteristic fabric combinations and DIY appliqués. Such serendipity and the inspirations that included fluorescent cell research and Staffordshire dogs make Libertine's SS16 collection our favorite from New York's Fashion Week.

What is cooler than bacteria on your clothes?

✿London - BURBERRY

One of the very few fashion firms that makes a lot of emphasis in the music played during their fashion shows is Burberry. This year, after announcing a partnership with Apple Music, Burberry took over the show and surprised us all by staging a sneak peak of this seasons collection on Snapchat 24 hours before the show, creating a lot of expectation for the actual runway presentation. The firm lead by Christopher Bailey offered to the show's attendees a mini concert by Alison Moyet alongside a 32-piece orchestra, setting the perfect tone for a collection that we would define as both dark and romantic. Lace, leather and militaristic details throughout made this collection our favorite from London's Fashion Week.

So lacey!

✿Milan - DOLCE & GABBANA

“We don’t believe in fashion for trends any more. We want to show emotion. Just enjoy!” That is what Stefano Gabbana said minutes before the fashion show for their new collection started. Vintage posters advertising attractions of Rome, Florence and Venice, movie stills of mid-century Italian stars and homemade souvenir embroideries inspired the powerful duo of fashion designers to create their new collection. Every item of this new collection inspired us to take a virtual trip to post-war touristic Italy and imagine the taste of a delicious lemon gelato. Without a doubt, the pair of designers achieved to show nostalgic emotion through decorated sundresses and fun printed scarfs, something that nowadays in fashion is very hard to do.

Bellissimo!

✿Paris - CHRISTIAN DIOR

Tens of thousands of delphiniums decorated the tent in which Christian Dior's fashion show took place. Unlike the galactic and unnatural trends that run through many collections this season, the collection lead by Dior's creative director, Raf Simons, represents a calm and enjoyable picnic where nature surrounds you, something that reminds me of the meadow in which Bella and Edward used to hang... Just saying.

It is true that there was nothing very challenging in this collection fashion wise, however, it is our  favorite from Paris Fashion Week because Christian Dior might have been the only firm who didn't forget that Spring and Summer shall be warm in 2016.

Those necklaces tho... <3

For now my loves, this is all.
I hope that after this we can focus on pulling out our coats and scarves from our closets and start to enjoy the very much awaited Fall Season.

We need some sweater weather here in Texas ASAP!
